Green living: e-bike in Tuscany - Montalcino

E-BIKE - an ideal mean for people who want to travel and exercise up to their abilities while enjoying the surrounding landscape
E-BIKE: Technical hints to read more about this ecological transportation mean, consistent with our principles.

The real E-Bike - i.e. "assisted pedaling bike" (technically Pedelec) - is considered by law a normal bike to all effects provided that it is equipped with an engine that does not exceed 250 watts and speed of 25 km / h; it is also mandatory that the bicycle stops when the biker stops pedaling.

Anima Toscana is a specialized agency in tourism on two wheels. It was founded by people who come from the experience of L'Eroica, the cycling event best known in Tuscany and beyond, and by experts in the Tourist Business. The team is therefore extremely expert in tourist itineraries in Montalcino that fit every need.

SUGGESTED ITINERARIES by Anima Toscana Team starting from Corte Pavone:
From Corte Pavone you can make three circular routes with departure and arrival at the winery, of different lengths. You can ride in the northern slope of Montalcino, along the Castiglion del Bosco downhill road or the southern slope that leads to the Abbey of Sant'Antimo. Both sides are quite challenging to ride but thanks to the E-Bike you will enjoy the Tuscan landscape effortlessly!

The routes 1, 1a and 2 are all set in the southern side of Montalcino, the path length will be 31 km, 38 km or a longer route of 46 km.
The longer route allows riding on a picturesque country road, with breathtaking views that open out to the sea, to the Castle of Poggio alle Mura, also known as the home of one of the most important producers of Brunello. After reaching the most southern part of Montalcino, on the border with the Province of Grosseto, the path will take you up a hard climb and along a dirt road surrounded by vineyards, to the Romanesque Abbey of Saint Antimo, where a stop is recommended. The final part of the route will visit Montalcino and its lovely old town before looping back to the starting point.

The 38 km route does not visit Castello Banfi but detours to the Castello di Argiano.

The 31 km route takes you to the Abbey of St. Antimo and Montalcino.

The route 3 (28 km, 600 meters in altitude) takes you to Castiglion del Bosco downhill road, surrounded by predominantly woodland landscapes. Past the hotel is back pedaling surrounded by vineyards and farms until the Brunello road. From here a steep climb takes you up to Montalcino, the view that opens from the village walls will repay the previous efforts.
