The health of an environment is therefore measured by its optimal level of Biodiversity.
For us humans, biodiversity has an impact on multiple aspects: food, environment, genetics.
Let's now think about the first two of which we have some experience in our vineyards.
Don't you think that in order to safeguard a vineyard, that is, keep it free from attacks by insects and fungi that damage the grapes, different and multiple interventions are necessary and if the so-called "traditional" approach is adopted, then chemicals are used, with obvious health risks.
In our vineyards instead, we replace the chemical interventions with a continuous attention and work to preserve precisely the natural BIODIVERSITY of the ecosystem of which the vineyard itself is part.
In practice, we implement natural and scientifically proven gimmicks such as the inclusion of insects that eat the harmful ones for the vines (see the experience in Stefanago Castle).
Other times we strengthens the plants with natural "homeopathic" substances (see the experience in Loacker Tenute in Alto Adige or Tuscany).
Biodiversity also determines the tourists' preference, as it promotes differences and peculiarities of the landscape.
For example, if you come and visit Castle Stefanago, you will live the experience of a real ecosystem where people, land, forests, vineyards and fruit trees are in perfect harmony.
DO NOT MISS a few minutes the ancient town of Fortunago, a living example of "recovery and protection" of the atmospheres of the past, a true jewel of medieval architecture
Again not to be missed is VARZI THE SALAMI from pure pork and protected by a PDO.
You can taste our products during the Wine Tours at Castle Stefanago or stopping at the Stuvenagh Brewery just below the castle walls.
