As it complies to specific regulations, organic wine is recognizable by consumers thanks to the specific brand, and is achieved through the removal of synthetic chemicals and sulphites in the process. In addition organic farms are committed to consistency in the waste of water resources, to adoption of cultivation techniques that prevent pests in a natural way (see for example what our Loacker Partner with its homeopathic interventions in the vineyard).
In other words, organic wines are the result of an agricultural and manufacturing philosophy that favors the relationship with the land and nature, are therefore particularly suitable for incorporation into eco holiday.
Organic farms are careful, again for consistency, although not subject to discipline, to operate according to environmental sustainability criterias such as use of renewable energy or recycling by-products (eg. Cartoons containers for bottles).
In summary true "organic wine tourism" means:
- Plan your trip according to the criteria outlined above, so that each activity is consistent with the general principle; to do that you need a certain predisposition and capabilities in selection, but in the end you will enjoy a holiday full of innovative ideas for their own cultural and social growth
- Select the area to visit on the basis of the potential to meet your quality and economic requirements; usually choosing an Organic company means a high quality and very good value for money
- Organize the "local" transport as you can, leave your car and rely on local means if suitable. Even a van with a driver for example is more sustainable than moving with your own means, as it allows you to taste the wines without worries about driving and helps reducing circulating (possibly methane-fulelled) vehicles.
