GRIGNOLINO D’ASTI D.O.C

GRIGNOLINO D’ASTI D.O.C

Type of wine: red

Grape varietal: 100% Grignolino

Production techniques: the grapes, grown with the most severe and substantial organic farming methods, are harvested carefully by hand in small perforated baskets. The aging is done in stainless steel tanks and the bottling is done not earlier than 6 months in the bottles after the harvest, depending on the vintage.

Tasting notes: wine with a spent red ruby color tending to rose and garnet hues. Delicate nose, fruity with floral notes. Despite what the color would lead you to expect, in the mouth it is dry with good structure, good persistence and characteristic tannins.
Serving and specific pairing notes: unbeatable with starters and charcuterie, perfect with pasta, main dishes with vegetables, soups and pudding. Fantastic with fried food, meat and mixed grill whose fat is more pleasant and easier to digest thanks to the tannins in the wine. It is worth it to try with exotics dishes, particularly with spicy food.
The recommended serving temperature is between 16C and 18C, but it is very pleasant at lower temperatures as well, especially in the summer. Curiosity: In ancient times Grignolino was recognized for its health benefits and properties. In the early 1900’s it was among the most prestigious and expensive wines in the Piedmont.
It’s a particular wine, sensitive to the seasons and not always easy to understand, it always excites its select fan base.

SILENTE BARBERA D’ASTI D.O.C.G

SILENTE

BARBERA D’ASTI D.O.C.G

Type of wine: red

Grape varietal: 100% Barbera

Production techniques: ageing in steel tanks and bottling not earlier than a year after harvest. After a short two month rest in the bottle this wine is ready to go to market. Tasting notes: ruby red with violet highlights, fruity on the nose with hints of fresh fruit, in particular red berries, cherry and prune. On the mouth it is dry, sapid and has good structure and persistence, pleasing and drinkable.

Serving and specific paring notes: easy to pair with a variety of foods, ideal for every part of the meal. Excellent paired with appetizers, pastries, soups, meat dishes, not to mention fresh and blue cheeses.

Curiosity: A classic Barbera according to tradition. High quality without frills: true, direct, authentic. This is where its name comes from: if it were a person it would be someone “silent”, someone who doesn’t need to be in the spotlight, which knows his worth and doesn’t have to flaunt it. Loved by both the occasional drinker and the expert wine enthusiast. Appreciated by wine bars and restaurants for its drinkability and its immediacy upon opening in presenting itself in its full organoleptic entirety, and last but not least, its favorable price to quality ratio.

BRIC ROCCHE BARBERA D’ASTI D.O.C.G

BRIC ROCCHE

BARBERA D’ASTI D.O.C.G

Type of wine: red

Grape varietal: 100% Barbera

Production techniques: the grapes for this wine come exclusively from the “Bricco Rocche” parcel, renowned in the Asti region for its privileged position and considered among the excellent crus (Veronelli). Traditional vinification, after the malolactic fermentation the wine ages in oak barrels (tonneaux) for at least 9 months (sometimes more, depending on the year). Afterwards it ages in the bottle for about two months.

Tasting notes: intense ruby red with bright violet hues. A rich, complex nose with notable concentration and thickness. Fruity with light hints of oak, vanilla and red berries. In the mouth it is dry, sapid, and characteristic with good structure and persistence, almond flavors with evident sensations of ripe fruit and notes of toasted banana in the background.

Serving and specific paring notes: Best when opened and left to breathe for at least an hour or two before drinking. Excellent to accompany soups and plates of pasta, perfect with boiled and grilled meats, roasts and game. Also goes well with fresh and blue cheeses.

Curiosity: One of our most awarded wines (Iowe, Mundus Vini, Biodivino, Wine Trophy) with numerous mentions in international magazines (Switzerland, Belgium) for its great value.

SOLO PER LAURA BARBERA D’ASTI D.O.C.G

SOLO PER LAURA

BARBERA D’ASTI D.O.C.G

Type of wine: red

Grape varietal: 100% Barbera

Production techniques: made with grapes selected from the oldest vineyards with the best exposure. Harvested only when completely ripe, usually in the first ten days of October. Vinified with maceration on the skins for 10-12 days in order to obtain maximum extraction. After malolactic fermentation the wine rests in small oak barrels for about 10 months. After which it undergoes a long ageing in bottle. Great ageing potential.

Tasting notes: Purple red color with rich garnet hues, intense and complex nose with light hints of oak and vanilla, toast, tobacco and preserved fruit. In the mouth it is generous, enveloping, good body and long. Dry, full, warm, soft, sweet and slightly tannic notes, good structure and persistence. A perfect symbiosis of the peculiarities of the grape and the relationship with oak generously fused with softness and elegance.

Serving and specific paring notes: a perfect companion to haute cuisine, first courses with meat and mushroom sauces, meat dishes like braised and roasted beef and game. Perfect with aged, hard cheeses.

Curiosity: “Only for Laura” is only produced in the best vintages. A “romantic” wine, ideal with intimate dinners by candlelight, it is the cornerstone of our production range. Internationally acclaimed and bestowed with important recognition.

GLI STORNI MONFERRATO ROSSO D.O.C.

GLI STORNI

MONFERRATO ROSSO D.O.C.

Type of wine: Red

Grape varietal: 50% Barbera, 50% Nebbiolo

Production techniques: separate vinification of the Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes due to the different ripening times of the two vines (the first ten days of October for Barbera and the last ten days of October for Nebbiolo). After malolactic fermentation is complete the two wines are blended and put into small oak barrels for ageing, lasting a period that varies from 9-12 months.

Tasting notes: An important wine that is also elegant and refined, born from the union of two great wines. It is made with the best Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes; it represents the perfect combination of the typical Barbera fruit and the velvety tannins of Nebbiolo. The different characteristics of the two varietals enrich it with color and polyphenols giving birth to a wine that is slightly ruby red with orange garnet hues. The bouquet is complex but delicate with toasted notes, light hints of vanilla and floral aromas, intriguing scents of violet and small forest fruits, bitter dark chocolate and a warm scent of fresh hazelnuts and nuances of cinnamon, nutmeg and laurel. In the mouth it is dry and elegant, full, warm with good structure and persistence, just a touch of oak and light pleasant tannins. Delicate aromas of cherries, raspberries, sesame and linden flowers. Over time notes of leather and balsamic resin come through.

Serving and specific paring notes: Ideal with important and elegant meat dishes, especially poultry, roasts and game. Perfect with aged cheese, goes well with almost anything.

Curiosity: Like “Only for Laura”, this wine is also produced only in the best vintages. The dedication on the label to “storni”, a bird that loves grapes and not very loved by vine growers, but very pleasing to the property. With their image we want to communicate the benevolent joy of this wine to consumers, lively and cheerful but absolutely not overwhelming.

PIEMONTE DOC CORTESE
