Our vineyards are selected as "Cultural Landscapes" by UNESCO: winetours sparks land discovery and learning
Would ever think that a "vineyard" could become World Heritage? It happened in Piedmont where UNESCO has sought to protect the landscape that vineyards embody as a whole.
All Piedmont vineyards landscapes are historical and cultural sites, from the Castle of Grinzane Cavour to "Infernotti" Monferrato, true works of art where it is kept the wine for home consumption.
The "Cultural Landscapes" are defined by UNESCO: Tongariro National Park in New Zealand, Portovenere and 5 Terre in Italy, the Uluru Kata Tjuta in Australia are well known examples.
